Paula received her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Queens College and is state certified. She taught 2 and 3 years old. For 17 years, she taught 4 year olds at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran school in Glendale, Queens. In addition, she started a Bible and evangelism club there! Teacher Assistant

‘Mrs. Kim’ has been with Circle of Friends since 1992.  She has extensive experience working with young students. She is fluent in both English and Korean. God has given her a special love for children and has equipped her with the patience, compassion, knowledge, and understanding needed to work in an early childhood educational program. Her shared music talents are adored. Mrs. Kim’s 25 years dedication is impeccable!

Teacher Assistant Substitute

Maryann comes to Circle of Friends Early Learning Center with 42 years of experience in teaching grades kindergarten through college. She was influenced greatly by a positive interaction with a Sunday school teacher named Mrs. Richards. This transformational relationship confirmed that teaching was a wise career choice matching her God-given purpose for life! 2 Timothy reads ‘And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others’. Maryann shares this while teaching the youngsters, and prays our Lord Jesus Christ lives and teaches through her. She also attends First Presbyterian Church of Flushing connected with the school.

Tiffany is a graduate of Queensborough Community College earning an Associates degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with Education Concentration. Currently she is an education student at Queens College pursuing her Bachelors degree in both Elementary Education and Psychology! She speaks Spanish also, and was a certified daycare assistant for three years supervising and monitoring children ages 8 months to 10 years of age. For years Tiffany has been a participant of a Christian youth group being active with retreats and several related events. One of her favorite scripture quotes is ‘In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned.’ (Titus 2: 7-8)

Teacher Assistant

Grace is a graduate of Queens College, with a Dual MAT degree (General Education and Special Education). She has served in her church’s children’s ministry from 2009 to 2016. She also worked with, and advocated for the needs of underprivileged children in foster homes as a Bridges to Health Waiver Services Provider. It was through this work that Grace decided to become a teacher, not a policy analyst as she originally intended. Grace’s vision is that all children will know that they are valuable, no matter where they come from. More importantly, she wants children to know they are capable of serving God and others no matter their age, just as Samuel served God – even though he was very young. Grace also has been serving as a director of the children’s ministry at her church since June 2016. Grace knows American Sign Language and teaches children this beautiful language at any given opportunity. She began volunteering at the First Presbyterian Church of Flushing After School in 2016, teaching ASL using Bible memory verses and working there the following school year . Her favorite passage that has encouraged her throughout trials and every area of her life is Psalm 73:21-28.
